This package includes tools and resources for comparing and integrating the regular Tesseract OCR engine with the Kadmos-enchanced engine. The tools allow for performance and accuracy comparisons as well as the utilization of combined OCR modes.

kadmos_tesseract_comparison.exe:: A comparison tool that allows you to compare the output and speed of the Tesseract OCR engine (LSTM mode) with the Kadmos variant, which includes a fallback to LSTM if needed.
tesseract.exe: A command-Iine interface (CLI) tool that Iets you experiment with new OCR Engine Modes:
- OEM_LSTM_KADMOS_COMBINED
This mode combines Tesseract's LSTM and
Kadmos OCR engines for enhanced recognition.
- OEM_KADMOS_ONLY
This mode uses only the Kadmos OCR engine for recognition.

DLL Libraries: hunspell.dll: Required by Kadmos for spell-checking and other functionalities.
kadmoscs.dll: The core Kadmos OCR Iibrary that integrates with Tesseract.
kadmoscs.lib: Static library for loading the Kadmos core library.
reconfig.dll: A configuration Iibrary used by Kadmos during OCR processing.

Classifiers: ttfus.rec, handus.rec: Classifiers used by Kadmos to perform OCR and ICR tasks.

These directories contain the English Neural Network data used by the Tesseract OCR engine. The data is automatically Ioaded by the tools for OCR processing:

tessdata_best: Provides higher accuracy at the expense of speed.
tessdata_fast: Optimized for speed, with slightly Iower accuracy.

A CMake-based project that demonstrates how to integrate the Tesseract OCR API with Kadmos-spedfic configuration parameters. This project indudes an example that performs OCR on a sample image.

⚠️ Notes

Ensure that all DLLs (hunspell.dll, kadmoscs.dll, reconfig.dll) are in the same directory as the executable files to avoid missing dependendes.
The Kadmos dassifier (ttfus.rec) must be present in the same directory to enable Kadmos-based recognition.
The directories tessdata_best/ & tessdata_fast/ must be present in the same directory to enable Kadmos-based recognition.

⚠️ Anmerkungen

Stellen Sie sicher, dass sich alle DLLs (hunspell.dll, kadmoscs.dll, reconfig.dll) im selben Verzeichnis wie die ausführbaren Dateien befinden, um fehlende Abhängigkeiten zu vermeiden.

Licensing

Lizenzierung

The KADMOS add-on requires a Iicense key for activation. A valid trial activation key can be obtained from re Recognition by registering your email address at https://tesseract.rerecognition.com/trial. Activating the trial license will result in downloading a kadmos.lic and kadmos.licactivation files, which should be placed in the same directory as the executable. The trial allows unlimited use of the KADMOS add-on for a period of 30 days. After the trial period, a valid Iicense key is required for continued use.
